Infrastructure holds the key
to the sustainable development and growth of a
nation. The infrastructure in a country is often
viewed as an indicator to its level of development
and a state of the art infrastructure significantly
accelerates itsoverall growth.
South Asian region has witnessed tremendous growth in the
infrastructure sector in the past few decades. An inevitable
consequence of this phenomenal growth is the increase in the
number of disputes associated with such infrastructure projects.
Having a dispute resolution mechanism which ensures expeditious
resolution of disputes, arising out of any such project, is
vital, not only for the particular project, but also for the
sustained growth of infrastructural projects in the region.
Arbitration, as a method of dispute resolution, is preferred
over litigation for a host of advantages that the former offers
to the parties at dispute. |
